The client + ask:
I was commissioned by a biology lab at Harvard to create possible cover illustrations for Nature Magazine based on their accepted paper on stem cell research and the treatment of Type I diabetes. My goal was to fulfill the Lab Director's vision of an entity "traveling from one place to another."
The result:
I pulled data visualizations from the paper and imported these images into Grasshopper to create 3D forms that matched. I composed the illustration in Rhino, flattened and exported it, then edited and finalized in Illustrator and Photoshop. I wanted the illustration to feel directional and luminous.
